Kuhuboto PHC new building inaugurated

Dimapur: Jacob Zhimomi, MLA and Chairman of Development Authority of Nagaland inaugurated the new Kuhuboto Primary Health Centre (PHC) building on May 6. The six-bedded PHC is equipped to conduct institutional delivery and basic laboratory testing besides handling daily OPD. The new building was constructed under NRHM and the Department of Health & family Welfare, Nagaland, constructed the Staff quarter.

Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, Jacob Zhimomi informed the gathering that the proposal for staff quarter has been already approved and construction will begin at the earliest. He also appreciated the Chief Medical Officer and his establishment for their constant support and dedication for the welfare of the people of Kuhuboto area in particular. He therefore, requested the village authorities to set aside a plot of land for the construction of the Staff Quarter.

K. Kakiye Zhimomi, President, KGPO enlightened the gathering on the brief history of PHC Kuhuboto since its creation in 1987 which was functioning in the GB’s residence for 15 years and was moved to another community building and later to one of the vacant house under SDO (C) for another 5 year before the construction of the new designated PHC building by the Department of Health & Family Welfare. He also stated the need for a proper PHC compound fencing, electrification from the concerned Power department and the need for a full time Chowkidar. He further suggested the need for creation of another Health Sub- Centre at Vihokhu village to effectively provide medical services to the vast population covered under Kuhuboto area.

Dr. M. A. Wati, Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur thanked the MLA for his humanitarian works and looked forward to his participation in bring quality health care to the people. He also specially thanked the land donors for their contribution and support.

Dr. H. MlatoShikhu chaired the inaugural function and attended by Programme Officers and Staff under Chief Medical Officer Dimapur, Government Officials under Kuhuboto, GBs and public leaders of neighboring villages and the public of Kuhuboto area.
