Kuki Inpi Nagaland, CPO condemn killing by AR

Dimapur, October 25 (MExN): The Kuki Inpi Nagaland and Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) have condemned the killing of a GPRN/NSCN cadre and injuring of another cadre by the troops of 28 Assam Rifles at Okotso village in Wokha district on October 23.  

“It is hard to understand the action of the AR which resulted in the loss of a life and injury to one of the cadres of GPRN/NSCN, which is under Ceasefire with the GoI,” stated a press statement from Media Cell, Kuki Inpi Nagaland. “This action of the AR shows complete immaturity and such action shall never pave ways for peace in Nagaland.” The Kuki Inpi Nagaland expressed deep sorrow to the bereaved family and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.  

In a separate press statement, CPO president, Kekhwengulo Lea and general secretary, Mutsivoyi Kotso stated that the people while yearning for peace, “the AR troops were creating chaos and fear psychosis in the minds of the innocent people under the pretext of Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA),” Terming the incident unfortunate, the CPO urged the Assam Rifles to respect the ceasefire ground rules in letter and spirit and never create a situation with an ill intent under whatsoever circumstances. The CPO prayed that God will grant solace to the bereaved family members and also wished a speedy recovery to the injured cadre.
