Dimapur, November 16 (MExN): The Kuki Inpi Nagaland (KIN) has accused the Kuki Tribal Union (KTU) of abducting Asat Doungel, President, KIN from his residence at Medziphema on November 14. KIN has further alleged that the abduction was carried out on behest of the NSCN/GPRN. In a press note issued by MIP (KIN), the group stated that such acts will only jeopardize the peace process. Besides it also feels that this situation is an insult to the Kuki community residing in Nagaland. Alal Doungel, the elder brother of Asat Doungel has appealed to the Collective Leadership of the NSCN/GPRN, for early and safe release of his brother who is reportedly a diabetic and needs timely medical checkup. He appealed for his brother’s safety on humanitarian ground. He also reminded that it has only been a few days that his father passed away (Alal and Asat Doungel are sons of late Langkam Kuki, ex-MLA) on November 10.
