Imphal, May 12 (NNN): A dead body that was found dumped on May 8 under a culvert near Kholep village on national highway 39 has been identified today as the president of Kuki underground group Kuki Liberation Organization/Kuki Liberation Army. The body of Paokhomang Khongsai, 37, was found under a culvert on May 8 under mysterious circumstances. The body has since been kept in the mortuary of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for identification which has been identified by his family members earlier today. Nobody has as yet claimed responsibility in the killing of the KLO/KLA chief. Sources said that the body will be officially handed over to the family members tomorrow (May 13) at RIMS morgue. Kuki Students’ Organization, Sadar Hills, had earlier condemned the heinous act and warned that no such incidents recur in its jurisdiction in the future for the sake of communal peace in the area.
