Kuki Students’ Org Nagaland 31st general conference culminates

KSON office bearers with special guest, guest of honour, special invitees, GB Molvom and church leaders.

Molvon, January 11 (MExN): The Kuki Students’ Organisation Nagaland (KSON) concluded its three-day 31st General Conference-cum-Felicitation at Molvon village. The event, held under the theme “Rising Through Challenges” from January 7 to 9, focused on academic excellence, community leadership, and honouring contributions to society.

The conference commenced with the unfurling of the KSON flag by special guest Dr Tinojongshi Chang, NCS, Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur. The inauguration was dedicated by Rev HL Suantak, Pastor of KCCNS Molvom. Other dignitaries present on the opening day included guest of honour P James Swu, NCS, ADC Medziphema, and special invitee Khehoto Kiho Swu, Vice Chairman, Northeast Indigenous Peoples’ Forum (NEIPF). 

 

The evening featured the ‘KSON NITE’, a cultural showcase attended by special guest Avikishe Khujumi, SDPO Peren, and guest of honour Abei Thepa, Chairman of Medziphema Town Council.

The second day began with a Trumpet Call performed by the 22nd Assam Rifles to pay homage to departed KSON leaders and members. 

Arenla Jamir, Commissioner & Secretary of the Department of IT&C, Government of Nagaland, was the special guest for the felicitation programme, officially inaugurating the Conference Monolith, which was dedicated by Rev Seimang Haokip, Executive Secretary of KCCNS. 

 

The session guest of honour was Lt. Col. Pu Lunminthang Khongsai of the 164 Infantry Battalion (TA)(H&H) NAGA. A session on, ‘Conference with Social Workers’, was held later, with retired IAS officer Pu Khekiye K Sema as Special Guest. The day’s evening session was graced by special guest Nenei Hangsing, Chief Manager, Bank of Baroda.

The final day was dedicated to organisational matters, marked by a General Meeting and the election of a new Executive Body for the 2026–2028 tenure. The induction ceremony was led by Rev Seimang Haokip. The valedictory session was graced by special guest L Singsit, IPS (Retd.), President of Kuki Inpi Nagaland (KIN). 

The conference concluded with the “KSON Oldies Nite,” a ceremony honouring the organisation’s pioneers, featuring Special Guest Alun Hangsing, NCS (Retd.), Chairman of NSCPCR. The closing event included a high-energy performance by Novo Band, the winners of Hornbill Rock Contest 2025.
