Winners with officials right after the final match of the Phek Area Wrestling Association 28th wrestling championship 2024.
Phek, February 2 (MExN): Kuluvezo Soho of Phek Village was crowned the new champion of the Phek Area Wrestling Association 28th wrestling championship 2024 which concluded on January 30 at Phek Town. The champion walked away with a cash price of Rs one lakh.
Serayi Tetseo of Khuza village took the second position while Basayi Keyho of Phek Village and Sao Vezuh of Khomi Village clinched the third and fourth place. They walked away with cash prizes of Rs 70, 000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 40,000 respectively.
In the under-16 category Vevo Rhakho of Khuza Village emerged as the champion while Cheweri Swuro of Losami Village, Vekruo Vezuh of Khomi Village and Ve-ekri Tsutso of Lozaphuhu Village took the 2nd, 3rd and 4th position. Shevohu Nienu, Class-I Contractor graced the occasion as the special guest.
Meanwhile, it was informed that the following wrestlers in the senior category along with 4 under-16 wrestlers will represent Phek area at Chakhesang Wrestling Association 29th championship scheduled on February 9 at Chozuba Town. The combined team includes Kuluvezo Soho, Serayi Tetse-O, Basayi Keyho, Sao Vezuh, Huvo Vese, Surhovoyi Nienu, Johi Rhakho, Vezoho Tsutso, Waku Tara, Akhruku Vezuh, Vebo Nienu and Vethozo Lohe.
