Dimapur, November 11 (MExN): A Book titled Kumari: Kathmandu’s Enigmatic Goddess authored by Rev Dr K Danbir Rai, Professor of Religions, Clark Theological College was dedicated and released by Rev Dr Mar Pongener, Principal, Clark Theological College on November 10. The release coincided with the CTC 46th Thanksgiving Day in the College Multi-purpose Hall.
In his brief introduction to the book, the author said that the book deals with the Kumari tradition among the Hindu Newars. Reading through the book will inform the readers to uncover religious, social, cultural and political scenario in Kathmandu, he added.
Rai also added that the book will be helpful both for missionaries to Kathmandu, Nepal as well as for scholars who are committed and are searching for gender equality, women empowerment, religious harmony and divine presence in a mundane world reading this book is relevant and defining.
More so, the book is a research based book and a must-read book for historians, culturists, politicians, mythologists, philosophers, researchers and student.
