KUTT serves ultimatum

Demands NSCN (IM) duty commander be handed over

Dimapur, July 2 (MExN): The Khiamniungan Union Tuensang Town today served an ultimatum to the NSCN (IM) Tuensang Town Commander demanding the duty commander detailed at Old Medical ‘B’ Colony in Tuensang on June 20 last be handed over to them. This demand comes in the wake of the killing of late T Sangtsoi Khiamniungan on that fateful day at the Old Medical ‘B’ colony by unknown persons.

President of the KUTT, Pheno in a letter addressed to the NSCN (IM) town Commander of Tuensang Town alleged the involvement of the NSCN (IM) in the murder committed on June 20.

“We the KUTT had thoroughly investigated the murder case and found proof that there was an involvement of armed personnel of NSCN (IM) serving under your (Town Commander) Command,” said P Heno.

The KUTT therefore demanded the NSCN (IM) Duty Commander on the day the murder was committed be handed over to them within three days

“So basing on the evidence, we the Union has strongly demanded to hand over the Duty Commander detailed at the colony on the fateful day to the Union within 5 July ’07 without fail,” said Heno and added that failure to do as demanded on the part of the NSCN (IM) would compel the KUTT not to co-operate with the NSCN (IM) and resort to its own course of action.

Meanwhile The KUTT through its president P Heno and Chairman of the Executive Committee Chetei, in  a letter, has also informed the Deputy Commissioner of Tuensang that the Union had taken very seriously with regard to the murder of late T sangtsoi Khiamniungan and also informed about their suspicion of NSCN (IM)’s involvement and that it was going to take its own course of action against the culprits as per the ‘Resolution No 4’ of the Union.

“The KUTT has already proved that the murder was committed by the armed personnel of NSCN (IM).” The KUTT said that it was informing the DC for necessary actions.

“The KUTT has bring forth this information to you before any tribal issue comes up,” the KUTT added.
