KVC issues safety guidelines for returnees

KOHIMA, MAY 22 (MExN): The Kohima Village Council (KVC) has endorsed the decision taken by the Kohima Village Covid Committee (KVCC) on safety guidelines for returnees.

A notice issued by the KVC informed that the committee has resolved that all stranded persons (residents of Kohima village and town) should compulsorily comply with the Government directives and submit oneself to fulfill the registration quarantine and surveillance.
Complete individual details of all inbound travelers into Kohima should be sent to the colony/village authority, it added.

It further directed that all stranded returnees of Kohima Village are to compulsorily stay for another 14 days at the observation home set up by Kohima Village at Perinuothou.

“This is in compliance to Government guideline for 14 day home quarantine. All stranded persons of Kohima village should report to the control room of KVCC on or before arrival at the Government quarantine center,” it added.

The notice also directed all business set ups to strictly comply with the guidelines and orders given out by the government.
Meanwhile all residents of Kohima have been asked to strictly adhere to the guidelines laid down by the Government.

“Nobody will be allowed to entertain any returnees as guest. No person under quarantine period should be allowed to move out of homes under any circumstances,” added.

In case of any other ailments where medical attention is needed one should report to the concerned authority for help, the notice informed.
Currently some colonies under the jurisdiction of Kewhimia have formed their guidelines for safety and wellbeing of their colonies. For these colonies, the KVC asked them to continue with the guidelines which are in conformity with the ideals of Kohima Village Council.

It meanwhile warned against the spread of false news.

It further stated that the concerned government quarantine facility authority located in the jurisdiction of Kohima Village should take full responsibility in ensuring that all inmates and staff remain in the designated facility area.

“Any individual or institution found disregarding or not strictly adhering to the guideline laid down by Kohima Village Council shall be penalized with severest action,” it cautioned.
