DIMAPUR, JULY 19 (MExN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) conducted ‘Millet Recipe Contest’ as part of international year of millets on July 8 & 14 at Chiechama and Kezoma village.

Sixty women farmers and SHG members participated in the contest. The aim of the programme was to create awareness and impart knowledge on millet based bio cultural diversity and adaptation by creating and demonstrating culinary creativities in making traditional foods, a press release informed. 

A four-member panel comprising of KVK scientist and village chairman of the respective village rated the recipes made out of foxtail millets and jobs tear. Delicious recipes like foxtail millet cakes, cookies, pakora, pancakes, millets ladoo, millets mixed with rice and chutney, foxtail and jobs tear puffs, jobs tear tea, millet local drinks etc were prepared and presented.

Based on scoring of judges on different parameters, winners were selected and awarded with gifts.
