KOHIMA, APRIL 25 (MExN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kohima organized training for practicing farmers at Henbenji village on April 23. A press note informed that a total of 31 farmers from Henbenji and New Terogvoyu villages attended.
In the technical session, Agronomy Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) Imtisenla spoke on the topic “Weed management in field crops.” She explained on cultural weed control, biological weed control and chemical methods of weed control in field crops.
Horticulture Subject Matter Specialist (SMS), Khekali Sema, speaking on the topic “Package and practices of large cardamon” emphasized the importance of its cultivation, types of propagation, nursery management, cultivation practices, harvesting and post harvest management in cardamon.
Animal science Subject Matter Specialist (SMS), Dr Temjenunugsang highlighted on the topic “Poultry farming.” He stressed on the strains of poultry birds to be selected, housing, management, nutrition, and health care measures in poultry.
In another programme supported by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kohima and sponsored by Directorate of Maize Research, New Delhi, 12 farmers of Phenwenyu village under Tseminyu sub division were trained on maize production technologies at the Directorate of Maize Research, New Delhi, from March 29 to 31.
