Dimapur, October 3 (MExN): KVK Dimapur, ICAR Nagaland Centre observed National Nutrition month in September 2024. A press release stated that three programmes were conducted under the initiation of Dr. Phool Kumari, Senior Scientist cum Head, KVK Dimapur at various places to create awareness on the importance of Balanced Diet and its Impact on Overall Health under the Nutri-Sensitive Agricultural Resources and Innovations (NARI) project. The programmes were mainly focused on educating farm women, ASHA workers and children. Lectures were led by Dr. Chingakham Sima Chanu, SMS, Home Science, KVK Dimapur followed by interaction with the participants.
The programmes were conducted at Dhansiripar village on September 6, on September 27 at Government Middle School, Jharnapani along with the students and teachers and September 30 at life Ministry Learning Centre, Naga United Village. The highlights of the prorgamme include Nutri-Thali Competition and Winners were distributed prizes for the same. The programmes were assisted by Dr. Ebibeni Ngullie, CTO, Animal Science; Dr. Bendangla Imsong, CTO, Plant Breeding; Dr. Moanaro, Programme Assistant and Marneni Divya Sree, SMS, Agriculture Extension. All together 85 participants were given awareness.
