Dimapur, March 31 (MExN): KVK Dimapur ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre, Medziphema conducted training cum demonstration on ‘Soil Health management’ for the farmers of the district.
The programme was held in order to address the soil productivity related constraints on Soil acidity and related fertility constraints, Water logging in valley lands, Loss of top fertile soil through run-off water, scarcity of water during lean season, Low use of fertilizers and its low efficiency, Low rate of improved agricultural practices, Limiting soil depth etc.
A total of 159 farmers attended the training programme covering four villages viz. Dhansiripar, Ekhyo Yan, Diphupar and Seluophe village in the month of February and March 2017. Inputs such as Agriculture Lime, Vermicompost, Plant protection chemicals and Improved Maize seeds were distributed during the said training programme.
