Mon, June 23 (MExN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Mon conducted three-day training on ‘Soil and water conservation technique for management of natural resources’ at KVK conference hall, Aboi from June 21 to 23.
The target group of the training was practicing farmers, farm women, and rural youth from Aboi Town, Langmeing, Chinglong, and Ngangching village, informed a press release from Senior Scientist & Head, KVK Mon.
Dr. Ruokuovilie Mezhatsu, the Senior Scientist & Head, KVK Mon briefed about the objective of the training and encouraged the participants to practice soil and water conservation activities through community participations. Soil and water conservation, he stated, are “our” primary responsibilities.
PowerPoint presentations on various topics like crop rotation, counter bunding, mulching, deforestation and afforestation were made by Imtinuksung, Subject Matter Specialist (Soil Conservation).
The participants numbering 106 farmers also visited KVK instructional farm.
On the last day, the participants were showed film on soil and water conservation.
