Lumami, January 31 (MExN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Nagaland University conducted training cum farmers-scientists interaction at Atoizu Town on January 30, sponsored by ATMA, Zunheboto.
Toshi Longkumer, Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Protection) spoke on the topic ‘IPM on Summer Vegetables and Maize’, while Dr. Nongothung Ezung, SMS (Animal Science) dwelt on “Poultry Disease Management”.
During the interaction between the scientists and the farmers, problems and solutions were discussed on insect pest and disease management on maize, summer vegetables, potato, nutrient and disease management of poultry, piggery, turkey birds and dogs, informed a press release from Dr. Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia, Sr. Scientist & Head, KVK, Nagaland University, Lumami.
The day long programme ended with free distribution of bio-pesticides, minerals, vitamins and medicines for animals and poultry birds. Altogether, 25 participants attended the programme.
