Tuensang, September 30 (MExN): As part of Swachhata Hi Sewa Campaign, a village level awareness programme was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tuensang, Nagaland on better sanitation practices like using a toilet, handwashing, health and hygiene awareness at Govt. High School, Kuthur Village, Tuensang.
Deliberating on the activities of Swachhta Hi Sewa, Pakom Phom, SDO(C) Tuensang encouraged the Kuthur village council, teachers and students of the school to practice better sanitation practices in and around the village and the school campus.
Awareness of clean sanitation practices was delivered by Dr Shisarenla Aier, Subject Matter Specialist (Horticulture).
She emphasised on personal hygiene which creates a sound mind ultimately leading to excellence in one’s life. She also explained the steps involved in maintaining a good hygiene and sanitation starting from home to the school campus for a healthy wellbeing of the students.
Waste bins- green for wet disposal (Organic waste), blue for dry disposal (recyclable waste) and red for reject waste (non biodegradable) were also donated by the Kendra.
The programme was chaired by Tokiho Achumi, Asst Chief Technical Officer (Agronomy), KVK Tuensang. Altogether 147 participants including students, teachers, church leaders, village council members, two members from administration and KVK staffs Tuensang attended the programme.
