KVK organizes farmers–scientist interaction on multiple cropping

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 16 (MExN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mon (Aboi) Nagaland organized a two day programme on field days and farmers- scientist interaction from February 15-16, 2018 at Ngangching village and KVK campus, Aboi under National Innovations Climate Resilient in Agriculture - Technology Demonstration Component (NICRA- TDC).  

The KVK, Asst. Chief Technical Officer (Genetics & Plant Breeding) Dr. M.S. Sachan demonstrated on minimal tillage of pea crop cultivation with the variety of Prakash after harvesting of rice with colocasia on the same plot under resource conservation technology during the field days.  

The main purpose of the field days is to convince, motivate to remove doubts, superstitions and unfavorable attitude about the new practices, a press release issued by R Mezhatsu, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK, Mon stated. Dr. Paihem Michui, Martha Chakruno, and Dr. M.S. Sachan, ACTO(s) led the farmers- scientist interaction under the theme of multiple cropping systems to increase the cropping intensity and crop productivity for doubling of one’s income. Altogether, 68 practicing farmers and farm women were attended the programme, the press release added.
