KVK Peren conducts training cum input distribution

Peren, July 16 (MExN): Training cum input distribution programme was organised and conducted by ICAR- Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Peren at Jalukie town on July 14. 

 

Maintaining the lockdown protocol and social distancing, the programme started with a welcome address, followed by awareness lecture on the importance of constant hand washing, wearing of mask and maintenance of safe distance for prevention of spread of COVID-19, by Dr L Babita Devi, Incharge Head.

 

She elaborated in detail about the importance of scientific management and use of improved germplasm of livestock rearing with special reference to Piggery, Poultry and Rabbit. The participants were given in detail about the housing and feeding management and importance of deworming and vaccination in livestock rearing.  

 

Z James Kikon, ACTO, S/Sc, advised the participants to work sincerely in the field of agriculture as well as animal husbandry for livelihood even during hard times like COVID-19 pandemic. 

 

As a continuation of the programme, for demonstration a total of 500 day old chicks (Vanaraja poultry birds), 14 crossbred piglets, 20 Rabbits and Animal feeds and medicines were distributed to  42 beneficiary farmers of Jalukie, Ngwalwa, Deukwaram Nkwareu and Mhainamshi villages of  Peren district.
