Pfutsero, June 18 (MExN): The XIIth Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting of KVK Phek was convened at conference hall of CBCC, T. Chikri, Pfutsero on June 16.
Dr. RK Singh, Sr. Scientist and Head, KVK Phek highlighted the achievement of KVK in the previous year and action taken on the recommendation of Xth & XIth SAC meeting. Action plan 2016-17 was presented by Dr Rinku Bharali, ACTO, KVK-Phek.
Meanwhile, Dr. Abhijit Mitra, Director ICAR-NRC on Mithun suggested the KVK and other line departments to work hand in hand for successful implementation on the action plan. He emphasized the importance of mithun and highlighted on conservation of the elite species through semi-intensive rearing in the region.
All the members of the SAC, including progressive farmers from different villages, participated in the meeting and interacted on various agriculture related issues.
