KVK Tsg launches skill dev programme

TUENSANG, MARCH 2 (MExN): The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Tuensang along with training partner Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) launched a 200 hour Skill Development course on Quality Seed Growers and Mushroom Growers.
The training commenced on February 27 and will continue till March 23. The programme aims at training candidates for the job role of Quality Seed Growers and Mushroom Grower, in the agriculture and allied sector/industry and aims at building the key competencies amongst the learners so that they become self-reliant and to develop entrepreneurial skill in the field of agriculture which has become an emerging tool in Nagaland.
Addressing the participants of the programme, Martina Shitiri, Assistant Chief Technical Officer (ACTO), Genetics and Plant Breeding, KVK, Tuensang, highlighted the importance of the skill development training programme and encouraged the rural youths to learn and apply the skills that will be taught in the training programme to be self employed and self reliant.
The course director for the Quality Seed Growers course is Martina Shitiri, ACTO (Genetics and Plant Breeding) and for the Mushroom Grower course, the director is Eliseni Tsopoe, SMS (Plant Protection).
The programme was chaired by Eliseni Tsopoe, SMS (Plant Protection) and vote of thanks was delivered by Seveto Nyekha, Programme Assistant. All together 40 rural youths from 12 villages participated in the launching of the training programme.
