KVK Wokha holds Scientific Advisory Committee meet

Members during the 13th Scientific Advisory Committee meeting held at KVK, Wokha on February 12.
Dimapur, February 12 (MExN): KVK, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Wokha conducted the 13th Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting on February 12.
Dr BK Kandpal, Director ICAR, Umiam chaired the meeting where Mhathung Tsanglao, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Wokha was the chief guest.
The annual progress report for the year 2019-2020 was presented by Dr Santosh Kr Baishya, Sr Scientist & Head, KVK, Wokha wherein they made an observation of the work done by the KVK.
The Senior Scientist suggested the committee to identify the actual problem faced by farmers and encouraged to cover more villages in the district.
Co-chairperson Dr DJ Rajkhowa, Joint Director, ICAR Nagaland centre, Jharnapani observed and emphasized on covering more rural youth and encouraged them for taking up farming for entrepreneurial development.
The meeting was also attended by the agriculture and allied departments K Shekito Phuleshe, Project Director, DRDA; Medemshiba, DHO and PD (ATMA); Litomo Murry, DSCO (Soil); R Sentsu Kithan, DAO (Agriculture); Yanpothung Lotha, SCA (Soil); Dr E Mhonlumi Lotha, Deputy Director, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services; Vizunu, FD (Fisheries); H Wophyomo Kikon and Lorenbeni Murry, Coordinator, BMMU (Livelihood).
Action Plans for 2020-21 were presented by the concerned subject matter specialists of KVK, Wokha. Suggestions and feedbacks from the members were taken up into consideration and incorporated. Altogether 30 stakeholders, innovative farmers including farmer representatives attended the meeting.
