The 15th Scientific Advisory Committee meeting was held at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Zunheboto Nagaland University Lumami on February 27.

The meeting was chaired by Dr Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia, Principal Scientist & Head KVK Zunheboto. He presented an annual report of 2024 and laid out on how to grow crop, vegetable, fruits, poultry and fishing. Dr Chaurasia urged the productive farmers to practice the integrated farming system which will benefit farmers in lot of ways. He also elaborated on how to grow crop in a good variety of soil and preparation of banana cake, multi millet cookies etc. 

Dr Chaurasia ensured the KVK will try to supply crops seeds to different parts of areas under Zunheboto District.

While presenting an Annual Action Plan for 2025, Dr Visakho Shunyu, CTO (AGR/GPB) suggested some crops seeds and vegetables that can also be grown at Zunheboto including Cardamom, Broccoli and Chinese cabbage.

Sharing their feedbacks, the farmers emphasised on spot training/hands on training. L Holuto Ayemi, FPO Chairman and the farmers also requested the concern department to provide a good coffee variety favourable for the district. They also requested the departments to sponsor the field visitation to other states for learning purposes from the farmers and also acquire knowledge on technologies for better agricultural production.

The programme closed with concluding remarks and vote thanks by Naropongla, farm manager KVK Zunheboto.
