The main objective of the programme is to make the farmers self-reliant and generate more income which will indirectly help in providing self employment opportunity.
Three beneficiaries from the villages of Zaphumi, Sumi Settsu and Tichipami under Zunheboto district benefitted from the programme which is sponsored by VKPAS, Almora under the guidance of ATARI, Zone-VII.
The selected beneficiaries have been provided with 200 numbers of Broiler chicks, feeds and medicines for seven weeks.
To provide food security through poultry farming the KVK distributed 500 numbers of poultry chicks to 25 beneficiaries especially to women farmers of Sumi Settsu village. “It is believed that though this programme the farmers will be able to meet the demand of quality meat of their own, beside generating income for their family through sale of poultry birds,” KVK Zunheboto stated in a press release.
