Dimapur, May 23 (MExN): The felicitation programme of the Kohima Village Students’ Union (KVSU) for the HSLC and HSSLC passed-out students of the academic year 2011 was held on May 14 at the Kohima Village Council Hall. Vipralhou Kesiezie, Director, SCERT, graced the function as the chief guest, while the newly elected Naga Students’ Federation President, Kelhouneizo Yhome, was the special guest.
A press note issued by Kevisevolie Kevin, president and Petekhrietuo Khezie, generals secretary stated that the chief guest, in his speech urged the students to be more practical and rational in their approach to fare well in their studies, as the level of competition in today’s world of education is very multifaceted. In a bid to promote educational excellence, he has even donated an amount of Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh), which ultimately will be utilized for the same.
Exhortations were also delivered by Keviwetuonuo Alice Vizo (Indian Postal Service 2010), Postal Staff Institute, Ghaziabad, and Dzieseneituo Whuorie, who passed out the Geological Survey of India Examination 2009, in the 51st Rank. They shared their valuable experiences that they have gone through whilst preparing the Exams they have come across. In addition, they have also exhorted the students with their own share of tips and recommendations as to how they have to come up with the different level of examinations they will be facing in their future endeavors. In the meantime, the KVSU honoured both of them with Meritorious Award for being successful in their respective exams and for bringing laurel to the Union in particular and the Kohima Village Community in general.
Meanwhile, the KVSU also awarded Certificate of Merit to Mhasizonuo Suohu, of Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Kohima and Kekhrievituo Miachie-O, of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Kohima, for bagging the HSLC Examination Top 13th and 44th Positions, respectively. Around 180 students of both HSLC & HSSLC attended the felicitation programme, while about 250 students have registered through their respective Units.
