KVYO directs DSE retiree to return trees cut on public property

Dimapur, April 4 (MExN): The Kohima Village Youth Organization (KVYO) stated that, it has come to the notice of the organization that an incumbent under Directorate of School Education, Nagaland, while going on retirement from the service, has cut down many big trees which are purely public property, as it stands at the Director Residential Quarter within the campus of the Directorate Office at Bayavu Hill. It is also learnt that, the  incumbent has taken away all the tree trunks along with him while leaving the department.  In an open letter addressed to the Director, Directorate of School Education, Nagaland and issued by KVYO president Dzieseneituo and Medovilhoulie, general secretary stated that it has viewed the matter with utter seriousness and deliberated that any person with such high status in the department as the incumbent should bear the sense of responsibility in protecting public properties. The Organization also reiterates that, it shall continue to check such unwanted action of any public servant irrespective of his/her tribe, caste or creed. It is also stressed that, such act of vested interest causing loss/damage and carrying away any public property from government establishment shall never be tolerant at any point of time.
The KVYO hereby, directs the ‘culprit’ to return all the trees that are cut and taken away by him to the premises of the Directorate of School Education at Bayavu Hill within seven days from the date of publication of this letter. Failing which, the organization shall be compelled to initiate any appropriate course of action on him. The Director, Directorate of School Education, Nagaland is also requested to take note of the action taken by the culprit/retiree, and until such time, the organization should not be held responsible for any untoward action initiated against the culprit.
