Wokha: Kyong Students Union on April 14, 2014 observed Black Day (Martyrs Day) in rememberance of the two "martyrs" who sacrificed their precious lives on April 14, 1977, when the then Lotha Student’s Union was organising a silent procession in protest against the "inhuman act and man-handling" of the then SDO (C) Ralan by the Assam Police. Since then, KSU has been observing the day as Black Day/Martyrs Day in memory of Lt.Thungkumo and Lt.Chumdamo Lotha. The KSU officials led by its President, Amos Odyuo paid floral tribute at the Martyrs Park and visited the two "martyrs’" parents and family members and held a floral laying ceremony at their graveyards.
