The golden jubilee celebration of Khuza Youth Sports Association (KYSA) commenced today at Khuza village under Phek district under the theme “Onward with Legacies.”

Addressing the inaugural session, Kupota Khesoh, former NDPP candidate, 19th Phek AC, praised the achievements of young Nagas in sports at national and international levels, highlighting sportspersons like Vethozo Lohe, Hokato Hotozhe Sema, Yoto Chizo, Kuvelu Medeo, Sezovolu Dozo, Seyiekhrieno and several others, for bringing pride to the Nagas.

He also noted the success of Naga wrestlers in excelling at belt wrestling on national and international stages. Furthermore, he urged young athletes to strive for success from local to international levels, emphasizing discipline, consistent practice, and focusing on their strengths.

Underscoring sports as a viable career, he called on the Association and authorities to identify and nurture young talents through regular training.

He also encouraged the players to aspire to become champions at the bigger platforms.

The opening ceremony was chaired by KYSA vice president Thupuveyi Sapuh while KYSA president Swuyekhruyi Vero delivered the presidential address.

Nesapra Vero, VCC Khuza, Ludoveyi Vero, President TASA and Veduzo Vero, VCC, Chepoketa also spoke at the opening ceremony.
KYSA Games & Sports Secretary Besuto Vero administered oath to the players.

The celebration will continue till December 20.

Vethothi Vero, Retainer Lawyer, District Court Phek will be the guest of honour at the closing ceremony.
