La-ang Revirine Fishery Project at Pangsha village inaugurated

Tuensang, May 30 (DIPR): Parliamentary Secretary for Fisheries, Printing & Stationery, S. Heno inaugurated La-ang Revirine Fishery Project at Pangsha village under Noklak Sub-Division Tuensang, which falls under the upper stream of Tsunki River.
The chief guest in his speech thanked the Pangsha villagers for their cooperation and also thanked the departmental officers and staff and NGOs who are directly and indirectly involved in the successful completion of the project. He appreciated the people of Pangsha village for their straight forwardness attitude and unity among the people and added that for this even the British also had a due respect and reservation for the village during pre-independent era. He handed over the project to the Council Chairman of Old and New Pangsha village and called upon them and the villagers to take all necessary steps to maintain and mange the project so that maximum benefit is derived by all the common people.
Joint Director Fisheries Nagaland, Kevisa Kense gave a brief report on the project where he stated that the scheme of the project is to enhance fish production, conservation and preservation of indigenous fish species in the area.
Earlier in the programme, Pastor New Pangsha, Tsuno invoked God’s blessing. The programme was chaired by Secretary F & PHED Nagaland, Zhaleo Rio, IAS who is his introductory speech gave his word of satisfaction and appreciation to the people who are involved in completing the project successfully in scheduled time. He also gave guidance for the successful management of the project and also highlighted various schemes and projects of the government in general and also the department in particular to the people. Word of gratitude was also delivered by Ex-Chairman Khiamiungan Tribal Council, Ngon and by Old Pangsha Council Chairman followed by cultural presentation by Old and New Pangsha village. Vote of thanks was proposed by Additional Director Fisheries Nagaland, Zenohol Angami. A host of departmental officers and staff from state capital, Tuensang headquarter and Noklak sub-division and people from the area attended the programme.
