Lakhuti Baptist Church celebrates centennial jubilee

Wokha, February 2 (MExN): Three-day centennial celebration of Lakhuti Baptist Church (LBC) was held under the theme "Thus far He lead us" (1st Samuel 7:12) from January 31 to February 2.


Thousands of believers attended the celebration at Lakhuti local ground where Rev Professor Akheto Sema, General Secretary, CBCNEI shared the centennial message, spoke on God’s faithfulness and countless blessings.


He called upon the congregation to remain humble and faithful to continue in receiving God's blessings. Sema said that the true celebration of centennial jubilee is a time to reconcile the broken relationship and dedicate one’s life to God. He called upon the gathering to retrospect and reminisce the past sacrifices through who the congregation of the present day is being celebrated.


He urged upon the congregation to learn and to forgive in building a strong foundation of love and relationship, which is the true essence of celebrating centennial jubilee, a press release from Abenthung Kikon stated.


He reminded the congregation to rededicate their lives, a better and Godly life and remembering the past faithfulness that strengthens the church and the society till today. Rev Dr Mar Atsongchanger Executive Secretary, ABAM delivered word of greetings.


Rev Dr Ezamo Murry, speaker of the valedictory session shared a message on 'To follow the path of righteousness and become a decibel of God.'


He informed that God’s love is 'amazing grace', while adding that we are in the giving end and not in the receiving end. He called upon the congregation to be a giver with true heart and to be a torch bearer.


Earlier on January 31, Dr A Abeni Patton, assistant professor, BTC Pfutsuro was the speaker of the inaugural event. On the second day, unveiling of centennial memorial stone was dedicated and blessed by Rev Nyanchumo Lotha, executive secretary, LBCA, while Rev Zanao Mozhui, pastor LBC Dimapur was the speaker.


Words of greetings were shared by Mhathung Yanthan, advisor Horticulture, government of Nagaland on the second day while on the valedictory session former minister N Thomas Lotha delivered a message of greeting.
The three-day centennial Jubilee (1920-2020) concluded on February 2 with candlelight service.
