'Land issues hamper development'

Wokha | May 27 : Parliamentary Secretary, Irrigation & Flood control, Geology & Mining, Border Affairs, Y.Patton made an official visit to Nungying, Seluku and Koio under Wokha District (37 A/c). Patton while asserting on development, urged the villagers not to crop up with any issues relating to ownership of land as it only hampers development which perhaps is the reason that development could not be taken place in the district in the previous years.
He also appealed the villagers not to break the relation among themselves (villagers) as election will carry on as long as earth exists. He assured a construction of ‘welcome gate’ in all the three villages, extension of community hall in Nungying, road improvement and water supply. Patton also appealed the villagers to extend cooperation to the state government to facilitate more development in the area.
Former NCP candidate, Y.Y.Kikon and NPF candidate Pinyimthung Patton from 37 A/c who both, are a member of NPF also accompanied the parliamentary secretary and declared their withdrawal of candidature in the next 2013 election while Renbomo Kikon unit general secretary, 37 A/C of Seluku also declared his resignation from INC and joined NPF party.
EAC Chukitong, BDO Chukitong, Retd IGP N.N Ngullie, Additional SP, Deputy Director veterinary & Animal husbandry, Thungchamo Ezung, OSD Koratemjen Geology & Mining, Joint director geology & Mining Arhomo and party workers also accompanied the parliamentary secretary on his official tour.
Patton is scheduled to visit Tsungiki, Chukitong and Mungya on May 28.
