Landslide in Peducha affects traffic movement

Kohima, May 17 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie IAS along with area administrative officers SDO (C) Sechü Zubza, Tiayanger and other district administrative officers and NHIDCL officials inspected the landslide area at Peducha on May 17.  The team inspected the location where traffic movement has been affected caused by the heavy loaded Manipur bound truck which got stranded in the debris brought down by the incessant rain in the past few days, stated a DIPR report.

During the inspection, it was informed that SP Kohima will detail police team and with the assistant of the oasis company, the stranded truck will be towed away at midnight when traffic is light. It was also informed that more road clearance and maintenance will be carried out in days to come.

DC Kohima also instructed the NHIDCL officials to clear up the debris and loose soil without delay for smooth flow of the traffic movement, where the NHIDCL also gave the assurance to clear up in a day or two. 

Police team are regulating the traffic movement and vehicles have been advised to maintain discipline to minimise traffic jam.
