
Dimapur, July 16 (MExN): District level orientation training on LaQshya was held for Maternity OT Staff and Labour Room Staffs of District Hospital Dimapur at chapel hall, DH Dimapur on July 16.
Dr. Rebecca Y. Sema, DPO, RCH-UIP gave a presentation on LaQshya. She stated that LaQshya is a focused approach for ensuring quality of care around birth. LaQshya emphasised on respectful Maternity Care and assessment of Labour room standardization, a press release stated.
Vethipralu Lohe, DPM Quality Assurance Dimapur highlighted on the objectives of LaQshya, which are to reduce maternal and new born mortality and morbidity, to improve quality of care during delivery and immediate post-partum care, stabilization of complications and ensure timely referrals and enable an effective a two-way follow-up system. LaQshya also focused on enhancing the satisfaction of the patients and providing Respectful Maternal Care (RMC) to all pregnant women visiting the public health facilities. She also oriented the trainees on National Quality Assurance Standards and LaQshya certification process.
Dr. Koutsutho, OB&G, District Hospital Dimapur oriented the trainees on the key component and operational aspects of DAKSHATA. The goal of DAKSHATA is to strengthen the quality of care through competent and confident health care providers. DAKSHATA also aims to improve adherence to highest impact practices and translations of skills to practices. He also highlighted on Objective Structure Clinical Examination (OSCE) which is designed to test the clinical skill performance and competence in skills of the health providers.
Earlier the day, Dr. Belho, Asst Medical Superintendent, DHD delivered the welcome address. Dr. K. Vikato Kinimi, CMO Dimapur also encouraged the trainees to utilize their skills and time to the best of their abilities while in service. The training was attended by Gynaecologist, Paediatrician, Anaesthetist, DPM NHM, Maternity OT Staffs and Labour Staffs under District Hospital Dimapur.
