Large cardamom farm school inaugurated in Ungma village

Mokokchung, July 13 (MExN): Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Ongpangkong (North) block, Mokokchung inaugurated a large cardamom farm school on July 13 at Ungma village.  

Assistant Technology Manager Tsuktirenla briefed the participants about the concept of farm school. The main objective, she explained, is to facilitate increase in knowledge and skills of farmers through field experience and farmer to farmer learning, informed a press release received here.  

The inaugural programme was followed by technical session where resource person Dr. Imchalemla, AHO, Mokokchung, discussed on the topic ‘cultivation practices of large cardamom’. She explained the importance of proper site selection, shade regulation, land preparation, planting, intercultural operations and also on identification and management of pest and diseases of large cardamom, the release said.  

A total of 25 large cardamom farmers of Ongpangkong (North) block participated in the programme, where Multineem, a bio-pesticide, was also distributed to the farmers.
