Late Er Yhunsinlo Tep laid to rest at Tesophenyu

Nagaland’s PHED chief engineer Er Yhunsinlo Tep (1964-2019) who passed away on November 1 in Kohima was laid to rest today at his native village Tesophenyu under Tseminyu sub division of Kohima district.
Speaking at the funeral service, Er Repang Longkumer, acting Chief Engineer, PHED was all praise for the enormous contribution of Tep, adding that his team work spirit and goodwill deeds will stay ever fresh in the diary of the department.
R Khing, advisor for animal husbandry & veterinary services and women resource development said that Er Tep was an upright and sincere officer.
He said that Tep was the second Rengma who held the post of Chief Engineer in the PHE Department.
He joined the department as an SDO in 1987 and after holding different posts, he was lastly promoted to the post of Chief Engineer in 2019.
“By his demise, the state has lost an efficient and upright senior officer and our community has lost a son in whom we looked up to,” Khing stated.
Condolence messages from chief minister Neiphiu Rio, deputy chief minister Y Patton, PHED minister Jacob Zhimomi and others were also read out at the funeral service.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio stated that Tep was a capable officer and a gentleman with good demeanor.
In his demise, Rio said the state government and the citizens of Nagaland have lost a capable officer who contributed his best for the welfare of the people.
Ex-MLA Er Levi Rengma, Johny G Rengma, Non Official Director on the board of Directors of the National Schedule Tribes Finance and Development Corporation (NSTFDC), New Delhi, Er Agwaseng Kent, WSSO PHED, representatives from Dimapur Rengma Baptist Church, Rengma Hoho, Old Boys Association, Sainik School, friends from Sainik School, Imphal, Rengma Officers’ Forum (ROF), Tesophenyu Group Offlcers’ Forum, Rengma Tep Clan, Agwaseng Tep and several others also spoke at the funeral service.
Earlier, programme was led by Er Chengato Kath while Rev T Wachulo Jemu conducted the funeral rites.
