Kohima, July 8 (MExN): Condolences came in after the demise of Yashipokla Longkumer, wife of BJP National Vice-President Dr Chuba Ao, who passed away in the early hours of July 8.

Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio has expressed grief at the demise of Yashipokla Longkumer, wife of Dr M Chuba Ao, BJP National Vice President, on July 8. A press release from the CM stated that Longkumer was kind hearted and had a pleasant personality. “She was a caring and supportive wife, mother and grandmother, who stood by her family through all kinds of situations and encouraged her husband in his works,” the CM said. “In her demise, we have lost a gentle soul and her presence will be missed by all. However, let us cherish the fond and happy memories left by her,” he added. The CM further extended condolences to the bereaved family members.

Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton expressed sadness and said that late Yashipokla Longkumer was a pillar of strength to her husband and a guide to her dear and near ones. 

“In her demise, the party has lost a close family member whose absence will be felt dearly,” he stated. On behalf of the state BJP legislators, the Deputy CM conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nagaland state led by president Temjen Imna Along, National  Spokesperson Nalin Kohli,  General Secretary (Org) in charge of Nagaland and Manipur State Abhay Giri, National Secretary Arvind Menon, who was in the state for his official touring program  and hosts of other party leaders paid their last respect to the departed soul.

In his message, Along condoled the grieving family members and described late Longkumer as a God fearing woman, a noble and kind hearted soul, a woman who was always clothed with strength and dignity.

He also mentioned that she was not only a good wife; but a great mother who raised up her children to be fine men and women, and that her legacy shall live on and inspire many more lives.

The funeral service took place in their private residence in Chumoukedima, Dimapur, with people thronging the vicinity to express their grief.
