Latest killings an indication of helplessness: GPRN/NSCN

On 28th Feb. 2012, on the eve of the Naga Reconciliation Meeting at 4th mile expo grounds, K group announced that they will not participate in the meeting of Naga public. The next day among the crowd of 50,000, GPRN/NSCN arrested a K gangster with fully loaded gun inside the security zone and in the vicinity of where top leaders were sitting. This prompt action perhaps saved the lives of Naga leaders on the podium who, one after the other, addressed the mammoth gathering. It is foolish to talk about the so-called delegate’s security official when K leaders found themselves unfit and unprepared for the occasion. Clearly there was a plot to assassinate Naga leaders. On humanitarian ground, the suspect and his friends were allowed to go away. This was the best decision on a special day because GPRN/NSCN does not believe in killing among the Nagas.

Days before 14th March 2012, the public in Zunheboto town repeatedly appealed to GPRN/NSCN Authorities about the high handedness and harassment meted out to innocent public by rogue K gang members on a regular basis. On 14th Shikato Achumi, the so-called K group’s vice chairman of Zunheboto was forcefully demanding money from a shop. He could have been an easy target however, Naga Army simply fired shots in the air to let him know his threats and harassments must stop. Hopefully it is a lesson well learnt.

On 28th Feb. 2012 at Longwa, a day before the 29th Naga public meeting, two Konyak GPRN/NSCN members late Khamhi Konyak, Razou Peyu of Pukho Village and Pte. Lemnyu Konyak of Chenmoho Village were killed in cold blood. GPRN/NSCN knew that there were elements threatening Naga Reconciliation process.

On 14th March evening, three GPRN/NSCN members were arrested by K members at Mon Town and brutally killed. Lieut. Pawang hailing from Totok village, Lieut. Wangkem, hailing from Chui Village and Corporal Manshong, hailing from Chui-Goching village became victims of merciless K gangsters. These precious sons of the soil committed themselves to the task of rebuilding the Naga Nation. Their valiant sacrifices shall not go in vain. This serious provocation, invalidating all positive goodwill and understanding must be seriously viewed. Those who walked away from the Naga reconciliation Process have no moral right to question the integrity of GPRN/NSCN. What is to be done against these elements shall be initiated. It is sheer stupidity to expect peace and reconciliation from wayward men.

MIP, GPRN/NSCN
