Lazami Village demands clarification from NSCN-IM

Dimapur, November 28 (MExN): Lazami village reports that one “Lt.” Umesh Bihari of the NSCN-IM abducted a carpenter, one Peter from the village, on November 23 and the victim’s whereabouts are unknown. Lazami Village Council has demanded a clarification from the underground outfit on the whereabouts of Peter, by the NSCN-IM “Lt” Umesh Bihari who is from Utter Pradesh.

The council in a note gave account of the abduction on the 23rd. It was stated that Peter and one of his friends were abducted by “lt” Umesh Bihari of the NSCN-IM from a tea stall around Phulbari area in Kohima. Peter and his friends were having tea, the council stated. However, Peter’s friend was released but the fate of the former is unknown.

The village council of Lazami demanded immediate clarification from the NSCN-IM’s higher-ups on what ground the carpenter was abducted, what crime he has committed, or whether or not he was abducted due to personal enmity. “If so do not use the national symbol for your personal gain” the village reminded the underground outfit. “If you are real national workers then your duty is to safeguard the life and property of the civilians but instead, civilians are unsafe with your movement around civilian areas” the council told the NSCN-IM.

The village reminded that they have every right to know what happened. “We want the information within short time possible” the council stated. The village also reminded the NSCN-IM that “you talk much about unification but abduction and killing innocent citizens on one side then your action and word are contradict then how can you expect the civil societies…support your move for unification.”
