Chakhesang Students’ Union platinum jubilee celebration concludes

Nagaland Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, Minister Neiba Kronu said that laziness, insincerity and dishonesty are not the culture of the Chakhesang people. “We, the Chakhesang people, laziness is not our culture, insincerity is not our culture, dishonesty is not our culture,” he said while speaking at the cultural session of the platinum jubilee celebration of Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) at Phek town on February 16. “Our culture amount to hardworking, sincerity, honesty and we are known for our hospitality,” he said.
He said that if we lost our culture, if we lost our identity, that means we have lost everything. Kronu stressed on the need to preserve the good culture and abandon the bad culture if any. In today’s world, he said any community having the good culture is love by outside world.
Stating that there is nothing like working hard, he said “We all have to work. There is no shortcut to success.”
Stating that academic career is the most important for student life, he described the present generation as lucky lot. In the past, he said, because of the political problem one cannot go to school. They want to read good books but they do not get opportunity. But, now for present generation, they can learn through both offline and online.
Stating that the world is full of opportunity, Kronu, who is also the former president of Naga Students' Federation said “Do not think that you will not get job. Job is everywhere all over the world.”
He however said that the multinational companies want only quality people. “If you are qualified, sincere, honest and hard working people, don’t worry for the job,” he said. Stating that job avenue in the government sector has reached a saturation point, he asked the people to focus on entrepreneurial activities.
Cultural Session
Earlier, the cultural session was chaired by CSU former president Wepe Mekrisuh while solidarity message was shared by Hotoshe K. Sema, President, Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu. CSU units joined folk song and folk dance competition for Late Niesatsii Khamo Memorial Trophy and Late Zekope Krome Memorial Trophy respectively. Riizazho Students’ Union (SU), Mesulumi SU and Chetheba SU bagged first, second and third position respectively in folk song competition. Kiitsapo SU, Yoriiba SU and Losami SU stood first, second and third place respectively in folk dance competition.
CSU elects new team
CSU election commissioner Ciisayi Lohe announced the new team of CSU with Avezo Kevin Kapu as president for 2022-24 tenure, Vice president- Visapa Movi, General Secretary- Pei Kezo, Assistant General Secretary- Asalu Veswuh, Finance Secretary- Povozo Soho, Treasurer- Josuno Rhakho, Publicity & Information Secretary-Zapoi Dzudo-o. Union Assembly: Speaker-Weneizo Mero, deputy speaker- Chekholo Akami and Khrotso Wetsah as assembly secretary.
Later, Phek Deputy Commissioner Razovolie Dozo graced the valedictory function. Asahrii Clement, president Poumai Naga Tsiidomai Me and Miiphatho Nyuthe, President, Pochury Students’ Union also shared solidarity messages while Chakhesang Youth Front president Vezhoduyi Nakro shared greetings.
The valedictory session was chaired by CSU former president Vevoyi D Vadeo while vote of thanks was proposed by COLA Member Secretary Seyieveto Lohe. It was followed by jubilee nite, managed by Vogue Entertainment Nagaland.
