DIMAPUR, JULY 30 (MExN): The dispute over the leadership of the NNC (Parent Body) drags on with Vice President Zhiongba Yimchungrü disowning Z Royim as the President of the NNC.
Zhiongba, in a press statement issued through the Yimchungrü Regional Council of the NNC, disputed that Royim has “no moral or political authority to appoint or change any high office” in the NNC set up.
“In truth, Z Royim during his Acting Presidency in 2015 has given all political authority in written to V. Nagi to exercise and execute” all decision making of the organization, the statement said.
As decided at the General Body Meeting of March 7, 2019, he maintained that Yilow Humtsoe (Acting President), Zhiongba Yimchungrü (Vice President) and V Nagi (General Secretary) are “the right NNC (Parent Body) leadership”
Accusing the Working Committee of interfering in the affairs of the NNC (Parent Body), he said that it should not “without knowing the head and tail” of the NNC Yehzabo (Constitution).
Terming Royim as a village headman and a Village Development Board member, he held that Royim being made the leader by a few followers, who have never worked in the NNC, has made a mockery of the Naga political struggle.
“I must make it very clear once again that Yimchungrii Regional Council has denounced Z. Royim leadership because of betrayal and no one is with him. This is the stand of Yimchungrii Region as stated in the past too,” he reiterated.
“Z Royim and supporters will be held solely responsible for any action against the genuine NNC leaders,” he added.
Further, he maintained that the “mouthpiece” of the NNC (Parent Body) has been the “Information & Publicity Wing” as has been known “from long time back”.
