
Community Helpers Week at Blossoms Preschool

A group of schoolchildren had the chance for a sneak preview behind the scenes of Unique Bakery and Mokokchung Auto Service Station (MASS) at Mokokchung town.
As part of the weeklong ‘Community Helpers Week’, a total of 25 children from the Blossoms Preschool were joined by their teachers for a tour to the Unique Bakery and tried their hands on the tools and equipments at the MASS.
In the bakery, the proprietor Senti showed the team around while at the workshop, few little talks between the mechanics and children took place.
Speaking after the visits undertaken on April 19 and 20, the administrator of Blossoms, Sashinungla Nathan said, “It was our Community Helpers Week (The whole week 3rd week of April) which is a thematic learning where children can learn and be more conscious of what and who helps our community to be a better place. It is a chance for the children to learn to appreciate people and things around them.”
Informing more about various activities undertaken by Blossoms, she said that the School do many classroom activities on different themes and make sure that there is at least one opportunity of “Real Life Application” by going on a field trip.
“We want each child to learn beyond the books only. We want to give them as many opportunities as possible to learn and experience by themselves,” she added.
