
Kohima, June 20 (MExN): Network of Naga People living with HIV/AIDS (NNP+), SVAVRITTI Project funded by EU and supported by SAATHII in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority, Kiphire organised a legal awareness programme for target groups at the hall of Community Based Organization (CBO) ‘Survivor’. The session was facilitated by Panel Lawyer Hotingkyu as resource person and three Para Legal Volunteers on May 31 at Kiphire Town.
Tia Sangtam, President KpNP+ Kiphire shared the challenges faced by the community. He urged the communities to erase and trust one another and built a good relation. Panel Lawyer, Hotingkyu shared in detail the free legal aid component under DLSA and spoke at length about the Right to Information Act 2005. He encouraged and urged communities to know their rights and assert if any violations of rights happen.
NNP+ Kohima Svavritti Project, State Coordinator Elivizo in a press release said that there was an interaction hour after the major sessions. Representatives from DAPCU, TI- NGO implementing partner IBAPWO, KpNP+ and CBO Survivor attended the programme.
