Legal awareness workshop on ‘Adolescence with Education’ held

Tuensang, February 15 (MExN): A mega legal awareness workshop for adolescents under the theme “Adolescence with education” was conducted at Town Hall Tuensang on February 15. The programme was organized by District administration Tuensang and Tuensang police & Tuensang District Legal Service Authority in collaboration with Beti Bachao Beti Padao, Mahila Shakti Kendra and Sakhi One Stop Centre Tuensang. 

A DIPR report stated that the programme was attended by DBs, GBs Teachers and Students from many schools and colleges from Tuensang.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikhant stated that adolescents is an age of uncertainty so one should work whole heartedly and move towards one’s passion to achievement. Social Circle and its relationships are very vulnerable at this age of uncertainty and such workshops should help to overcome any untoward happening in the young minds, he said. He also had a concern over the growing population of drug abuse especially younger section of the population.  SP Tuensang, Bharat Laxman Markad also spoke on legal provisions.

  
Short speech on Human Rights and Sakhi was delivered by Herola Sakhi One Stop Centre Tuensang and Soteth Anar Project Assistant TDLSA spoke on POCSO Act, Juvenile Justice Act and DLSA. Chulongla One Stop Center SAkhi Tuensang also spoke on BBBP.

Skit on Sexual Harassment and prevention was staged by Tuensang police while Shamator College demonstrated a short play on harmful Drug Addiction.
