Legal Literacy Club workshop held across Nagaland

Kohima, April 21 (MExN): With a goal to spread legal awareness amongst the school children, who in turn will reach out to the masses, workshops on Legal Literacy Club was organised by Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority in all the 11 districts of Nagaland from April 9 to 20.  

In addition to holding the workshops, installation of LED screen/monitors in the respective district courts were done simultaneously.  

In each district, the workshop was attended by five schools, consisting of five students each and their respective Teachers-in-Charge. The workshops were successfully conducted with the assistance of the respective District Legal Services Authority Chairman and Panel Lawyers, stated a press release from NSLSA.  

Temsu Walling, Project Manager, Legal Literacy Club (LLC) spoke on the introduction, structure and activities of the club.  

Kethovelu Resu, Project Assistant, LLC apprised the students of various law topics such as domestic violence, constitutional values, child marriage, road safety, human rights, rights of senior citizens, environment, etc, the release added.  

The students, according to the release, were encouraged to be aware and stand up for their rights, and be active participants and contributors for the betterment of the society.
