Legal Services Authority conduct programmes across the state

DIMAPUR, October 30 (MExN): The District Legal Services Authorities have conducted various activities across its respective districts in the recent past.  

PEREN: Peren District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) in collaboration with District Child protection Unit Peren conducted legal awareness programme at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Jalukie Peren on October 28.  

Speaking on Juvenile Justice Act and Anti Ragging, Asungbe, Retainer Lawyer PDLSAsaid that it is the constitutional right of every citizen’s under Article 22 of the constitution of India to be defended by the legal practitioner of his/her choice. He said that it is a mandatory duty of the state legal services authority that free legal aid services be made available to every juvenile for rights of the child- Survival, Development, protection, participation etc.  

PHEK: The Phek District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) conducted essay competition on the topic ‘Child Rights’ with the class 9th and 10th students of Government high school Phek Village on October 28.  

Altogether 28 students participated in the essay competition. Luo Venuh bagged the first position, Shekhoveto Hoshi second position, and Tsikhruvolu third position. Panel Lawyer PDLSA, Vethothi Vero and PLV PDLSA, Diezekho Vadeo invigilated the essay competition.  

Meanwhile, PDLSA also organized a legal awareness program at Lozaphuhu village on October 28. N Lonshithung Ezung, District and Sessions Judge and Chairman PDLSA, spoke on Motor Vehicle Act and Right to Information, Mamang Singson, Retainer Lawyer PDLSA spoke on Nagaland Village Council Act, Vethothi Vero. Altogether 37 beneficiaries attended the program.  

MOKOKCHUNG: Mokokchung District Legal Services Authority (MDLSA) organized Inter school Essay Competition on Child Rights for high school students at Law College on October 14. 14 Students, two students each from 7 Schools participated in the competition. Wangshitemjen of Queen Marry Higher Secondary School, Rishiben of Jubilee Memorial Higher Secondary School and Anamika of Jubilee Memorial Higher Secondary School Won The First, Second And Third Prize Respectively.  

MON: Mon District Legal Services Authority (MDLSA) conducted Essay Writing Competition on ‘Child Rights Citizens’ with High School Students of Don Bosco School, Mon on October 24. Altogether 61 students took part in the competition. Principal, Don Bosco School, Mon in his vote of thanks expressed gratitude to the DLSA and it’s Panel Lawyers for providing such opportunity to his school.  

The first position was bagged by S. Hongeih, the second position by Wangtok and third position by Among Wangnao.  

LONGLENG: Longleng District Legal Services Authority (LDLSA) organised an awareness programme on Tribal Rights Citizens at Community hall Yongnyah Village on October 28.  

Ahoshi, Assistant Public Prosecutor spoke on Village Council Act, Mane Phom, Retainer Lawyer LDLSA spoke on Tribal Rights Citizens and Hamnyei Angh, Panel Lawyer LDLSA spoke on Protection of women from domestic violence. Welcome address was delivered by Chairman, village council Yongnyah and invocation by Pastor Yongnyah Baptist Church. The programme was chaired by Bonglei, PLV Yongnyah.
