Legal services conduct extempore competition on Fundamental Duties

Students of Cambridge High School Kiphire along with members of Kiphire DLSA and LCCs on February 22 at the extempore speech competition which was held on February 22.

 

KOHIMA, FEBRUARY 25 (MExN): The District Legal Services Authorities (DLSA) in the state are conducting extempore speech competition on "Fundamental Duties" with Legal Literary Clubs under respective DLSAs. 


Giving a brief on the events held so far, a press statement issued by the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) informed that Mon DLSA organised the competition on February 12 at DRDA Hall Mon town. N Mannon, Project Assistant, Mon DLSA in her welcome address said the main vision of the programme is to enlighten the future generation about the importance of fundamental duties. She also encouraged the participants to be active in implementing it. 


Mina Chetri, Green Valley High School, Nyukai Konyak J, St. Joseph High School and Y Nyoya  Konyak, Green Valley High School were adjudged the winners of the extempore competition. The winners were given certificate along with cash prize and all the participants were given appreciation certificate. 


In Kohima, the extempore speech competition was held on February 22 at DPDB Conference Hall Kohima.  The panel judges include Julian Sitlhou, JMFC Kohima and Sunjib Rana, Retainer Lawyer, KDLSA. Overall 4 schools participated in the said competition. The 1st prize WENT TO Rufsana from Stella Hr. Sec School Kohima while the 2nd prize went to Asewe Letro from Mezhur Hr. Sec. School, Kohima and 3rd prize to Vetsolü Curha from Mezhur Hr. Sec School Kohima.


Two consolation prizes were awarded to Langnoi from Govt. Chandmari High School and  Zhavi-u Tsurho from Mezhur Hr. Sec School Kohima. Altogether 35 students participated in the competition.


Kiphire DLSA also conducted the extempore speech competition at Cambridge High School Kiphire on February 22 with the LLCs of Kiphire Town. The competition was participated by the LLC club members of Cambridge High School, El-Beth High School, Government High School Yangphi, Saramati View Modern School and Agape High School Kiphire town. 


Ten students took part in the competition. Judges of the competition include Kunyangli Sangtam, Panel Lawyer, Rebica T Sangtam, District Project Assistant and Asuthong PLV.I 


In the competition, Chumtila from Saramati View Modern School won the first prize, while the second prize was won by Kohli S Sangtam from Saramati View Modern School and the third prize went to Lumchumgli from El-Beth High School and Ruksar from Cambridge High School respectively. 


Prizes in cash along with the certificates were awarded to the winners by the DLSA Kiphire. Earlier, Kunyangli Sangtam, Panel Lawyer highlighted the participants and the members present on the value and importance of the competition. The programme was attended by 73 members from the Legal Literacy Clubs (LLC).


At Peren district, 8 students participated at the extempore competition organized by the Peren District Legal Service Authority at Peren College in collaboration with the LLC. Samyizeu Haibwang of 4th semester bagged the first position, while Keyininglule of 6th semester and Kelilube Hegui of 2nd semester bagged the second and third position respectively.
