Dimapur, August 1 (MExN): The Leo Club of Dimapur, Youth Wing of Lions Club of Dimapur, Lions International successfully held the very first Leo Premier League at Ram Janki Thakurbari school ground. LPL – presented by Raj Patni in memory of his late father Kamal Kumar Patni – comprised of 10 teams with 10 owners with each team playing 3 matches. The final was played on Sunday between Team Promise to Protect and Team Each One Teach One. P2P batted first and scored 87 runs in 10 overs. EOTO started well but could not stand up to the P2P bowlers and ended up on the losing side. Praveen Jhanjiri of P2P was awarded the Man of the match, man of the series, maximum sixes in the tournament and maximum runs in the tournament. Shanky Kashliwal, captain of P2P, was bagged the bowler of the tournament award after claiming the highest number of wickets. The winning team was awarded with individual trophies, a certificate and cash prize of 2100 per player whereas runners up were provided with individual trophies, a certificate and cash prize of 1100 each.
