Resolves to strictly monitor roadside maintenance
Dimapur, April 15 (MExN): In connection with the current road widening work being undertaken in the colony, the Lerie Panchayat has resolved to extend full cooperation to the workers throughout the construction period and strictly monitor vehicular traffics in the colony.
There will be complete “No Entry” to the colony after 5PM with effect from April 17 except in genuine emergency case till the completion of the work and the traffic of will be strictly monitored by LYO, informed Lerie Panchayat Vice President Dr. Ilang in a press release.
Route divergence will be through AG route during ‘No Entry’ timing, it said.
This was decided during an emergency Joint meeting of the Panchayat along with women organisation and Lerie Youth Organisation (LYO) on April 11, it added.
The meeting also resolved not to allow anyone to dig any part of the whole stretched black topped colony’s roads for the period of five years. A
nyone wanting to lay the water pipe lines is given till April 16 to do so, the release said.
No building materials or soil will be allowed to stored/dumped at the road side and dumping of of Garbage will not be allowed during school hour, it added.
Stern action against the defaulters of the above resolutions, the Panchayat said.
Meanwhile, the meeting also acknowledged Government of Nagaland and Chief Minister Shürhozelie Liezietsu for accepting the genuine appeal made by the Panchayat for improving the VIP road that passes through the colony.
It also expressed happiness with the “ongoing workmanship in fast pace” with road widening, proper roadside drainage, retaining walls and black topping from the National Highway up to the Heliport.
The Panchayat also lauded Viliele Khamo 1st Class Contractor, for accepting the request of the colony to undertake the maintenance works as a bonafide resident to ease the plight of the denizens of the colony.
