Leshemi, Zapami, Lasumi & Tungjoy Village to mark 50 yrs of Friendship Treaty

Kohima, December 29 (MExN): For peace and unity, a Friendship Treaty was entered into between three Chakhesang villages (Kuzha Netho Ketshu) namely Leshemi, Zapami and Lasumi of Nagaland and Tungjoy Village of Manipur in 1982.

In this regard, a Co-ordination Committee meeting was held recently at Tungjoy village under the chairmanship of P H Shesou with Kedoutsolhi Wetsah as the secretary.

Senior leaders P T Daniel, S Hrai Aloysius, Senokha Losou, P H John, Dingulo Khutso, P A Thekho, L D John, Ngupelo Lasushe, and S Kho John shared their thoughtful reflections on peace and unity, recounting how friendship treaty was signed and established between these Villages.

After a long deliberation, the House resolved to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the friendship treaty, to be held in the year 2032.

Accordingly, the following persons were appointed as Planning Committee members for the celebration: Convenor- P H John, member secretary- Neipetso Lomi, members- Neikhape Mekru, Kewekope Marhu, Weprenyi Krome, Wepekhro Wetsah, Rite Khutso, Wezhiepe Zhiemi, Z H Dahrii, P K Thomas, C K Dani, R S Sosii and H Veikho. The advisers include S Kho John, P T Daniel, Wepekha Wetsah and Teisongulie Sara.
