It is to be noted that three candidates will be contesting the forthcoming parliamentary election. Wherein, the major contention is likely to be between the ruling NPF-DAN versus Congress party in Nagaland. It is seen that the state congress party will be fighting the election on the basis of its manifesto; on the other hand, the NPF-DAN which is having an unholy alliance with the BJP-NDA is facing the election without declaring Manifesto as such the only option is to put the ruling govt under scanner for merit-demerit considerations, Therefore, the electorates should make proper decision by taking into consideration of the relevant issues confronting the state while voting.
It is seen that the present DAN govt has created a mess of 964.55 cr. Deficit which was presented in the last Assembly session 2014. We have witnessed the hues and cries of employees due to failure to pay the salary to over 14,000 Work-Charge and 2730 SSA Teachers. What is more confusing is that the employees have protested against the govt to release their due salary by saying ‘No Pay No Work’. Instead, the Govt has served notification of ‘No Work No Pay’ to these employees without paying their due share. Therefore, it is to be seen which phrase stands more logical? Here, the public has to decide with their wisdom as to who is right.
Another point to be considered is that the govt decision towards unceremonious downgrading of 129 schools in Nagaland. Wherein, the student’s community has been victimized in pursuing higher academic career. This is construed to be a denial to education when the nation is manifesting for free education. All these issues are considered just a tip of the iceberg to the long list of governmental failure in the state.
Further, the electorates should also have to take into account the national level party manifestation and its applicability to the context of the Naps. One must note that the two polarizing front in the form of BP and the Congress party might propel the debatable issue of the Haves and the Have nots to a further limits in the coming years. It has been reveal that the BJP-NDA has proposed to build 100 world class cities In India, which is likely to benefit more of the rich class people. On the other hand, the Congress party has brought out its manifesto to give 100 million job opportunities to the people and is expected to focus on the rural poor.
However, the most immediate crucial issue facing the Nagas is the contention of Communal force against Secular Ideology. The invading BJP-RSS nexus Ideology through its unholy alliance partner NPF-DAN which If win will be a threat to the secular fabric of the state, as the party manifest upon one nation, one religion based on Hindu unity in India. The glaring immediate example Is taking place even before we went to the poll, where BP Prime Ministerial Candidate Modi’s aide Amit Shah has recently been booked by the Chief electoral officer for making a hate speech “vote for MP If you want revenge” on the sideline of the Muzaffarnagar riot. On the other side the congress being a secular party will uphold and safeguard the wishes of the people by accommodating every section of people. Therefore, the voters should make wise decision in selecting a leader while voting for in the end, the result will be what you sow is what you reap. Let Nagas decide their future.
