LFHSS students trained on disaster management

Kohima, October 31 (MExN): Under the aegis of the 12th Battalion National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and along with the District Response Team (DRT) and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) Kohima, organized a Demonstration School Awareness programme on ‘Disaster Management’ at Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Kohima on October 28 last.
The objective was to provide adequate educational facilities by creating a positive learning environment to the students and also aimed at ensuring safety of the students in times any emergency.
According to a press release issued by NYV (National Youth Volunteers), training on strengthening national disaster response and training on firefighting techniques, CPR, bandaging, water safety, building collapse, earthquakes, bone fracture methods were conducted.
During the training course, students were asked to prepare with safety precautions where they can evacuate or take other safety precaution during any disaster.
Altogether 196 students from class 8 – 12 along with the School Disaster Management Club and 13 faculties from the school participated in the programme.
